  4. Nim's Island is my absolute favourite movie! I have the DVD and have watched it numerous times, so I thought I'd better actually read the book, which I'm doing now. In comparison, the book seems more like a first draft to me. That seems a mean thing to say, though.

I'd love to know what you think of the book vs movie, if you've come to the movie after reading the book.

  5. Our family has watched Nim's Island together 3 times now. We love it. On Saturday night I found myself wondering what my literary homeschoolery friends would think of it. The lifestyle of Nim and her father is the kind of lifestyle I hoped to be able to give my children by homeschooling them.......... ;) I have yet to read the book ......

  10. We just watched it too! Youngest dd has been a fan of the books for a long time, and when she saw the movie at the library she had to bring it home and demand that EVERYBODY watch it. I know it got mixed (generally bla) reviews online, but we enjoyed it anyway. We didn't think the writers were very charitable to Australians, though!

I'd love you to leave me a message. Tell me what you like - and what you don't. Just remember that this is what we do in our family - it doesn't have to be what you do in yours...
