Lots of trouble getting your blog to come up on this ancient computer tonight! I loved your comment on the "Drawing With Children" book on my blog post today! I "get it" about how the author wants us to be free to make mistakes, etc, but I'm afraid a lot of the book goes in one ear and out the other--blah, blah, blah--like the yoga lady on public television! In spite of that it has helped ME at least--I've always been afraid of drawing. The shapes exercises really were a lightbulb for me. B remembers a lot of the blah, blah, blah parts from previous after public school art programs. She wants to D.R.A.W. darn it! Now, about your horrible situation of reading about animals you'll never see!! I'm reminded of the Rhino--you know the one, a racehorse imagined by a committee??? At Barb's OTHER fabulous blog, http://handbookofnaturestudy.blogspot.com/ she's got video clips up of a lot of them. I highly recommend the new movie "ALvin and the Chipmunks"--silly, but she'll always know a chipmunk!! As we read about them in the Comstock book we mentioned the movie to each other many times.
