Luang Prabang Highlights

Mum:

:: Talking textiles with Prince Nithakhong Somsanith, son of The Red Prince of Laos. His collection of Lao costume and textiles is just brilliant.
:: Spending the morning learning about Lao food and preparing a meal...and eating it!
:: Visiting the Khmu and Hmong minority villages and 'talking' with the local people.

Dad:

:: Travelling up the Mekong River on our own private boat.
:: Indulging in a Lao massage.
:: Swimming in the beautiful Kuang Si waterfalls.

Jemimah:

:: Hiding the food for the Moon Bears and learning what is done to rescue them from the tiny cages where they're farmed for body fluids like bile.
:: Swimming in the pool and diving for hidden coins on the bottom.
:: Travelling on tuk tuks around the town.

  1. Oh my goodness! I'm GREEN with envy. I can't even comtemplate a trip like yours! It sounds so beyond my realm of experience (which, I suppose, is one of travel's benefits).

I'd love you to leave me a message. Tell me what you like - and what you don't. Just remember that this is what we do in our family - it doesn't have to be what you do in yours...
