Our new family member
Allow me to introduce you to a very special young lady. Her name, we think, is Florence, and we will be calling her Flossie for short. (It is no surprise that we were studying a certain female Crimean war hero last week, is it?)
Flossie is 12 weeks old, and she is a tiny toy poodle. We love her to death already, although we are quickly realising quite how unpuppy-proof our home is.
Flossie fills the very big hole in our family that was left upon the death of our beloved Audrey back in October 2010. No dog will ever take Audrey's place - each dog is an individual, and Aud was my very special companion, but already Flossie has taken hold of our hearts, and I can tell she is going to fit into our family perfectly.
I can't wait to share some fun photos with you, but in the mean time here are a couple of pics taken when the light was fading this evening upon our return home. Can you see how delighted the human young lady is with her new companion?
Are you pet people? Do you love doggies, or perhaps pussy cats? Have you a guinea pig or a chicken coop in the backyard? To me they maketh the home.
I am so delighted that Flossie has joined us.

I am so jealous! We love our bunnies, but dogs are just the best, and we all want one so badly. Some day...
ReplyDeleteThe human girl looks very happy indeed, and in spite of my jealousy I'm very happy for you all. :o)
Am I a pet person, YES!!! Love animals. We are owners of 2 dobermans (who are slightly bigger than your Flossie) and "mother" to 2 cats, Charlie and Ruby. Ruby however is completely spoilt and has more photos taken of her than my children!!! I would love a third cat, but dear husband says no at the moment. We also have 5 large fish.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to hearing all about Flossie.
Cats, coffee, computer ~ in that order. Actually, thanks to the first 2 I nearly lost the 3rd!
ReplyDeleteFlossie is gorgeous ~ & Jemimah's not half bad either! ;)
What a cutie! Oh, and the dog is adorable, too!
ReplyDeleteI do prefer cats, but having said that I want a miniature shih tzu one of these days - when the children grow up and wont be a danger to the thing. They are so small and delicate.
ReplyDeleteI quite like your new addition. Very cute.
Awww.......how cute! Both of them :) but I have to be quick as rebekah will be very envious if she saw this:) she's been dreaming of having a dog since she was 2 or less:) Guinea pigs sort of fill the gap lol.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to lots of pics in the coming months......
Oh Jeanne, she is sweet! Almost as sweet as our own Molly, who is black (like Flossie) and a toy poodle (also like Flossie) but crossed with a King Charles Cavelier. Just a lovely size and a beautiful demeanour. Enjoy your cuddles (and toilet training :P). Will she be allowed to sleep on beds? (Molly does!)
ReplyDeleteAwww she's so cute! A good friend of mine has a toy poodle as well, I just love them! Right now we have cats both mixed breads and Manx, a rabbit and hamster.
ReplyDeleteOh my, she is ADORABLE! How lovely for you all. xxx
