Our AO2 Booklist

A number of Mums have been encouraging me to post our booklist for AO2.

Here is is! It's somewhat tentative and prone to change at the least provocation, but if you take it in that vein you may find it useful!!

(In brackets you'll find the Lexiles for many books. I hope that Jemimah may be able to read many of these for herself. You can learn more about the Lexile Framework here.)

  2. Hi Jeanne, I love what you've done with AO for us Aussies. Keep it up.
Do you think Jemimah will read all the 'free-reads'?

  4. Looks great. Do you purchase all of these?
Also, you had a sample of your daily schedule a while ago which I didn't get to look at properly. Is it still filed here?
    Thanks for sharing all this.
    Cheers, Lydia

  5. Hello Jeanne, I just wondered why you included some of the American content in. Such as the D'Aulaire books (theyr're not even listed in AO2), the Holling C. Holling books, and the Burgess Animal book? Just wondering if we really need to do them too. We read Paddle to the Sea this year but haven't really enjoyed it because the area is so foreign to us. Love all your work though. It's so helpful for us Aussies. Thanks from Teena

  7. Hi Pauline,

I can't comment on your blog - did you know? Perhaps could you look at adding name/URL to your list of options? Just for me?

I didn't do either of these two poets. What about adding a few of the Banjo's other poems rather than doing another poet? Would that work? I think from memory I just read a few of the poems from the book a second time. One year I read some poems from a compendium to fill in the term - maybe it was AO2, I'm not sure. That would work as well, but Banjo has heaps of great poems for this age. Hope this helps. (How are you?)

  8. Hi there:) I love how you've incorporated the Aussie element into the Ambelside curriculum. I am just trying to work out how the Aussie stuff fits into the Ambelside curriculum though practically, day to day. My son is in year two and your year two schedule is just the overview not the breakdown week by week. For instance when it comes to Nature Study, according to the Homeschooling DownUnder lady the Nuri Mass book takes a year to undertake so I wonder how you can fit all the other bits in also? Thanks

I'd love you to leave me a message. Tell me what you like - and what you don't. Just remember that this is what we do in our family - it doesn't have to be what you do in yours...
