Jemimah took these photos yesterday during nature study. I saw her looking at the caterpillar, but I didn't realise how beautiful it was until I downloaded the photos today.
lol The only caterpillars I am sure of are the big hairy itchy grubs. I guess you checked out the other grubs while you were on the site. I'll ask Dearest; he's done some insect work for horticulture. The trouble is knowing if it's a moth or a butterfly ...or something else entirely. PLease, if you do find out, let us know. ☺
One of my boys worked out of Carnarvon for awhile; home base Perth; surfed the beach end of the Margaret River. Great White country. Big surf. Cold water. Yeah, I don't know much either. My mum says Perth is very beautiful so enjoy! ☺
I'd love you to leave me a message. Tell me what you like - and what you don't. Just remember that this is what we do in our family - it doesn't have to be what you do in yours...
lovely photos jemimah - i have no idea what sort it is, but the ants sure seem to like him :)
ReplyDeleteTry Danus genutia under the Nymphomea[?]

ReplyDeleteHe is beautiful, isn't he!
Not sure about Danus ganutia, Ganeida, becasue he has horns. Jemimah's did not...similar though, I'd agree.
Hmmm, I have no idea, but it indeed is lovely!!
