All That Remains

Paul Glynn's A Song for Nagasaki, was one of my must read books for 2012. The biography of Doctor Takashi Nagai, it is the story of an extraordinary man who converted from Shintoism to Catholicism predominantly through reading Pascal's Pensées. Nagai, a pioneer of radiology research at Nagasaki University, was in Nagasaki on the dreadful day that the 'Fat Man' atomic bomb exploded over his city, changing life forever. Despite the loss of his beloved wife in the blast, and suffering with leukemia caused by radiation exposure, Nagai devoted the remainder of his life to improving the lives of his fellow survivors. His faith in God, and the story of his life, both before and after the bomb are both inspiring and incredibly powerful.

This trailer for the film version of Nagai's life, All That Remains, has just been released. The production diary for the film is online in blog form here. The film is slated for a 2012 release direct to DVD.  What do you think?

  2. Hello! Belated Happy Australia Day! I'm a British homeschooling mum and I would be very honoured if you (and anyone else reading this) would choose a colour for my Social Knitwork Scarf on my craft blog: http://camberwellcrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/social-knitwork-scarf-2013-please.html
We will be doing a project on Australia later in 2013 - have to get through dinosaurs, digital photography and Africa first! - so I will be using your blog to help me :-)

I'd love you to leave me a message. Tell me what you like - and what you don't. Just remember that this is what we do in our family - it doesn't have to be what you do in yours...
